Term Papers Format

When evaluating a term paper, a supervisor pays attention not only to the content of a work (what is undoubtedly of great importance) but also to the term papers format. To write a successful term paper, you will need to divide your work into two parts:

  1. Choose a topic for your term paper, if it has not been assigned to you yet. When choosing a topic, you do not have to worry about the term papers format. The main purpose of your term paper writing at this stage is to choose a topic that will attract your audience, will be up-to-date, and, what is more important, you should be interested in covering this topic yourself. Do research. Make a plan. Start writing your thoughts into sentences. Once you have a draft of your term paper, you can move on to the second part of your work.
  2. First of all, consult your supervisor. Usually, professors specify the term papers format they prefer or require. It can be either MLA term papers format or APA term papers format. These are the most used styles. Do not hesitate to go to the library and search for the Publication Manual of the APA or MLA Handbook. This will definitely help you format your term paper.


Here are some general guidelines for the term papers format:

  • The general term papers format presupposes the availability of the following sections in your work: title page, table of contents, abstract, introduction, main body, conclusion, footnotes, bibliography, and reference list.
  • Place page numbers in the upper right-hand corner of each page.
  • Your title should not have a page number, but the counting should be started form your tem paper title page.
