Research Development

So, you are about to start your research. Unless you have made several researches before, you are in for a surprise: research development is difficult!

There are two possible variants to succeed in research developments:

  1. You have to plan ahead. Only few choose this variant.
  2. You have to be perseverant and persistent.

Here are a few guidelines that may help you with research development. The best way of organizing the process of research developments is to break it down into several steps:

Research Development Step 1:

Start your research development with choosing a topic. It should be broad enough to be interesting and narrow enough to be manageable. Make sure this topic is appealing to you. Your research development will be easier if you show particular interest in this issue.

Research Development Step 2:

Think about what you already know about this topic and what you need to explore. Make a kind of a plan. Write down the main issues you want to cover in your work and questions you need to answer.

Research Development Step 3:

Make a timetable that will help you manage your time. It is important to stick to your plan not to be in a hurry afterwards.

Research Development Step 4:

Now you can start gathering information for your assignment. Look for sources. The following two variants are commonly used by students:

  • You can browse the Internet. It is the easiest way, as you can do this sitting at home. But it is not necessarily the best one. Before using the information you have found, you will have to check the reliability of the source.
  • Go to the library. This is the best place to find factual information for your work, besides, people working there can give you some tips where and what to start with.

You may also ask your tutor for some help. He/she definitely knows what to start with. They might have some useful literature in their own home library.

Research Development Step 5:

Take notes. Do not forget to write down the bibliographic information about the source. You do not want to be accused of plagiarism, don’t you?

Research Development Step 6:

Organize collected data and analyze it properly.

Now, that you have enough information and evidences to support your paper, you can start writing. Your paragraphs should be logically connected, all issues should be supported by reliable facts, and the sources used in your work should be accurately cited.
